Built by a Fisherman, for Fishermen

Jesse was born and raised in South Florida, where fishing has been a part of his life for about as long as he can remember. Over the years, he’s wet a line just about every way you can — from bridges and beaches to boats, kayaks, canals, and anywhere else the fish might be biting. Freshwater, saltwater, inshore, offshore — it never really mattered. If there was a chance to catch something, Jesse was interested.

At 6'5", though, Jesse spent years fishing with store-bought rods that never quite felt like they were made for him. He wanted something that better fit his height, his fishing style, and the way he actually used a rod. When he started looking into custom options, he had a hard time finding exactly what he wanted at a price that made sense. So, he decided to build his own.

That first rod was built for one person and one purpose: himself, to fish with. But when friends and family saw it — and more importantly, fished with it — they started asking Jesse to build rods for them, too. One rod turned into another, word spread, and Dirty Customs Rod Building grew from there.

Years later, Jesse is still building custom rods with the same philosophy that started it all: a good fishing rod should fit the person using it, the way they fish, and their budget.

Every Dirty Customs rod is built by hand and made to be fished. Whether you spend your weekends on the beach, under a bridge, in a kayak, on a boat, or chasing your favorite fish wherever they’re biting, Jesse can build a rod around what works for you. Florida is home, and fishing these waters is something Jesse has loved his entire life. Dirty Customs gives him a way to share that passion with other fishermen — without turning a quality custom rod into something only a handful of people can afford.

Because at the end of the day, the goal is pretty simple: Build good rods. Charge a fair price. Help more people get out there and fish.
